Pressies Under Glass

, ,

Mother-daughter team Susan and Sam make and design miniature pieces of art that are framed under glass. Using the same method as stain glass artisans, we take microscope slides of various sizes, sandwich the thumbnail piece of art between them and then after wrapping it up in copper tape, we solder it together with silver solder. Sizes range from 1×1 to 2×3. Our art can be worn as a pendant, attached to a bookmark or displayed on an easel. Susan does the computer graphic/photo manipulation designs and Samdoes the soldering.
