Carving wood is something I have always enjoyed but didn’t have time for until I retired a couple of years ago. A majority of my creations are made from wood that otherwise would be thrown out. I also use sawdust, paper, wood chips and leaves to make my pieces. When carving, I concentrate on bringing out the interesting knots and try to highlight there unique path. All my carvings are hand made. I do occasionally use a hand tool but no machines are used. My goal is not to make my pieces perfect but interesting and beautiful.
