Develop a stronger connection to your authentic self through a "deep writing" practice called Proprioceptive Writing Proprioceptive Writing. This 20-minute meditative method will help you more consciously acknowledge and lovingly appreciate your unique thoughts, values and experiences.
Janet Skole facilitates writing and creativity workshops in the Lansing Area. She is a certified Proprioceptive Writing (PW) instructor, trained by PW creator Linda Metcalf (see www.pwriting.org.)

Join Diane for the experience of NIA, a joyous fusion of movement drawing from martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. Diane is a NIA Brown Belt practicing 14 years and teaching for 7 years. NIA’s simple and repetitive movements are easy to follow. NIA is fully adaptable to all physical abilities and all ages are welcome.
Day of the Dead Sugar Skull Craft

Join us in a Fun craft of painting and decorating Dia de los Muertos Sugar Skulls to remember loved ones who've passed as healthy grieving or just for the fun of it. We'll start by pouring libations, then get right into the project. All ages - boys, girls, adults welcome. Info provided and dialogue encouraged. $6. materials fee for ready to paint sugar skulls and all art supplies. Limited to the first 20 participants.

Yoga with Marsha Boyer
1:30-2:30 in Chapel
Marsha Boyer has been practicing Yoga for 10 years with various instructors in the Lansing area and is now teaching at Tina Brookhouse Fitness in Williamston. Marsha teaches basic physical yoga with emphasis on intent and integration of breathing and mind/body connection. This class will be a combination of warming stretches and strength poses with a stretch and relaxation period at the end of the session. Various degrees of difficulty will be demonstrated in order to accomadate those new to yoga or with physical limitations. A yoga mat will be helpful for the session as would a blanket for relaxation.
Singing workshop for adult singers of all abilities

- Generate musical compositions expressing peace and unity, internally and externally.
This workshop uses a series of musical games and exercises to create a functional format and safe environment for vocalists to challenge themselves with unfamiliar styles.
This workshop is for the shower singer, the instrumentalist that doesn’t sing but would like to. There are no vocal techniques or breathing exercises taught in this class.
If you can sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat, you can participate in this class.
There is some basic, gentle movement and participants should wear loose and comfortable clothing. Lots of fun and laughter and great music will ensue.
Wood Carving with Connie Marks
3:30-5 in the conference room
This workshop is geared for all levels from thinking about woodcarving to the novice. If you are a carver bring your tools. There will be tools available for women who want to try carving. You will learn about the different types of carving, tools, and types of wood and wood cuts. Come and experience this hands on workshop with Connie who has been carving since 1995 and has won a blue ribbon for her work. In fact, a woman was named national carver of the year in 2006. |
