                  Dawn Kirby

                  location: TBA

Dawn Kirby  Have you “tried everything,” and are now considering surgery to deal with pain?  Are you considering beginning a new workout routine and want to avoid injury? Or just tired or living with everyday pain?  Learn why Muscle Activation Technique (MAT) is having success in reducing pain and injuries where other modalities have failed.   Unlike other forms of soft-tissue bodywork MAT looks at muscle tightness as a form of protection in the body. Weak or inhibited muscles can create the need for other muscles to tighten up in order to help stabilize the joints. MAT gets to the root of pain or injury by addressing muscle weakness rather than muscle tightness.  This helps to restore normal body alignment, thereby, decreasing pain and reducing the risk of injury.

Dawn Kirby, CMT, has been a body worker since 1991.  She is a certified massage therapist and holds advanced certifications in SHEN Emotional Release Therapy, Myofascial Release Techniques, and Sports Massage.  She is currently an intern with the Muscle Activation Technique Institute in Denver, CO.  She teaches Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage and Sports Massage to massage students and has a successful private practice working with tri athletes and people living with chronic pain in the Denver area.

4-5:00P.M. Singing in Sacred Circle
                 location: chapel

Singing In Sacred Circle is an opportunity to look into your sister's eyes and share voice and spirit through song. Shelly GraffWhile learning short, repetitive women-centered and earth-based songs from a variety of traditions, power rises from the center of the circle as all voices create an energy that is both empowering and healing. This opportunity is intended to allow women, regardless of singing experience, to share their voices in a noncompetitive, relaxed safe space. Come sing along!

(Please bring some water. Percussion instruments are welcome as well!)

Shelley Graff is a teacher/healer who believes her sacred journey is guiding her to share the Singing In Sacred Circle experience with other women. Shelley's newest CD, Fire On The Arrow, was inspired by and is a tribute to the healing/sounding work of the living spirit of the late Kay Gardner. www.shelleyg.com
