Laughing
Matters
After 20 years underground, audiences everywhere
are now discovering these hilarious lesbian comics! Kate Clinton,
Karen Williams, Marga Gomez and Suzanne Westenhoefer pioneered
lesbian stand-up comedy. In small clubs in the 1980s and early
90's, they challenged and charmed audiences while making us laugh
about discrimination and the realities of being lesbian or gay
in ways few would dare.
"Laughing
Matters" alternates between interviews with the four comedians
and their live stand-up performances.
Filmmaker
Laurie Schenden will be here from California to introduce the
movie and answer questions afterwards.

"..she
has one of the sweetest, purest voices in contemporary music.
None of that would matter is she weren't so mindblowingly good
at what she does: writing and singing songs that move you with
their honesty and passion."

kate peterson (www.katepeterson.com)
"I adore kate peterson and her mellifluous, aching, gravelly
voice. Kate transforms, nonchalantly, mundane stories into strummingly
sensual, powerful songs. They make my heart skip a beat every
time."
